Venice Silver

19 March 2016

Against a hazy sky, a glassy silver wave crests and topples towards the shore, carrying with it an early morning surfer. A flock of birds break the calming sinuous sounds of the water as they fleet in and out of frame. The Venice breakwater is favoured during the cooler winter months and the first few weeks of spring, with northeastern winds providing the consistent swells which draw the crowds of Californian surfers here each day.
