Landon Metz was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and currently lives in New York City, where he creates large-scale paintings, sculptures and installations.
From the first tear of the canvas to hanging the finished artwork, Metz operates within an intentionally cyclical process. He explores the practice of painting through repetition, displaying a quiet appreciation for natural patterns and rhythms. His childhood home of Arizona is a profound source of inspiration, with its immense striated rock formations and radiant skies, which are transmuted in the contemplative white space of his Brooklyn studio.
